Honoring 200+ years of
ministry and service in Woodford County

The Methodist Church has a long history of bringing the message of God’s love to all nations. John Wesley and his followers began bringing this message in the late 1700’s. A black slave, named “Uncle Isaac” living in Versailles, had been brought up in the “Methodist persuasion.” Because of his example, Methodism began to thrive in Woodford County. Written records indicate the first official Methodist Church was deeded November 1824.  Below is calendar of events celebrating and honoring 200 years of Methodism in Woodford County.
