Adult Chancel Choir

  • Adult Chancel Choir is a diverse group of believers who enjoy praising the Lord through singing traditional hymns and classic octavos! This vocal group sings during the 9:00am worship service and will combine with Celebration Singers to share special seasonal programs throughout the year. Although no audition is required, it is helpful to have a song in your heart and an ear for music. Ages of members range from high school students to seasoned citizens.

Celebration Singers

  • Celebration Singers is a new addition to the VUMC Music Ministry. This group serves as a worship leading choir to teach new choruses, praise songs and fresh arrangements of hymns. This exciting new ensemble will share special music and join with the Adult Chancel Choir to sing special seasonal programs. Although no audition is required, it is helpful to have a song in your heart and an ear for music. Ages range from high school students to seasoned citizens.

  • Versailles UMC New Generation Singers, provides opportunities for youth between the 3rd and 12th grades to share their musical gifts. The NGS sings in worship and joins with the Adult choirs throughout the year. The 16 member choir provides energy and a fresh presentation of the truth of Christ's love for all.

  Hand Bell Choir
VUMC Music Ministry is being transformed and you can be part of the change. Now you can participate in two distinct choirs. The Chancel Choir will serve in the 9AM service singing the tried and true anthems and responses that are the foundation of our faith. The Celebration Singers will serve in the 11AM service and function as worship leaders enhancing our worship experience, teaching new songs and choruses and occasionally sharing special selections. Rehearsals will be Wednesday evenings with the Chancel Choir rehearsal at 6:30PM and Celebration Singers rehearsal at 7:30PM. You may serve in both or just one. The ability to read music is helpful but not necessary. Rehearsals for the new choir season begin August 27th. See you then!
  • The Hand Bell Choir, directed by Vicki Fish, regularly serves the worship experience at VUMC with the uniquely beautiful sound of hand bells. The ensemble is comprised of experienced youth and adults. The ability to read music is preferred, along with a desire to share your gifts of music for the glory of God.
