New Lingo:
You may hear some new names and titles being used.
I wanted to keep you up to date so you were in the know!
Carriers of the Light:
This is the title given to our children’s group here at Versailles
United Methodist Church. The children are taught the love of Jesus
Christ and to go out into the world and spread that love with others.
Disciples:
This is the title given to all adults who are ministering to the
children at VUMC and the surrounding community through any and all of
the Children’s Ministry opportunities available. Disciples study what
Jesus Christ taught and live out those teachings in their own lives and
share that knowledge and passion with the children. (Formerly known as
Children’s Ministry Volunteers)
Jr. Disciples: The same as the Disciples, but these are children and youth 4th grade through 12th grade
Lil’ Worship:
This is the children’s worship for those children ages 2-3 years old.
Lil’ Worshippers should be dropped off in the nursery before service
begins. |

Ways you can serve:
Kids Connection:
We are still in need of a Disciple to lead the PK class each Wednesday
during the school year. We ask that leaders commit to at least a month
at a time.
Homework Helpers:
Great outreach ministry in the Clifton Heights Community. Disciples are
needed to help provide a safe and fun place for the children to go
after school. We assist children with homework and help to give them
skills needed to succeed in school. No prior experience required.
Children’s Worship: Assistants are needed for the 1st – 3rd grade group. Both leaders and assistants are needed for the 4yr old – K.
Donate Snacks & Prizes:
Between Homework Helpers, Kids Club, and Children’s Worship, snack
foods are always needed. We try to give semi-healthy snacks and
individually wrapped items are best when possible. We also give prizes
at various times to the children. Small toys and such items are always
appreciated.
Pray:
Please be in constant prayer for our children and our Disciples. Pray
that God works through our children’s ministry program to spread the
good news. Pray that God guides and protects our children as they go
out into the world as carriers of the light, take the light of Jesus
Christ to an often dark world. |

- 3:00-4:30 p.m. Homework Helpers @ Clifton Heights
Children’s Worship
Staring Sunday, October 2nd,
Children’s Worship will be divided
into three groups.
2 -3 year olds (who have yet to come up stairs to join us for worship)
will continue to go to the nursery to join the Lil’ Worship group.
4 year olds – K will go when released to the K-2nd grade Sunday School room.
1st-3rd grade will continue to go to the 3rd-5th grade Sunday School room.
Beginning in January children will be asked to be dropped off and
signed in at the Fellowship Hall before church (no earlier than 9:50
a.m.) and be divided into their age groups from there. (More info to
