Versailles United Methodist Church Adult Ministries knows that every Christian needs a community of believers to support and encourage them in their walk with the Lord. The body of Christ is meant to serve and be served by each other. With that in mind, please look over the following Adult Ministries and see what might interest you. Life Groups meet at the church or in homes at various times throughout the week. These groups offer an opportunity for people to love and be loved in a small group settings, to find inspiration and encouragement, to mature in the faith, and to feel at home and safe sharing life’s joys and struggles.

Our life groups center around the purposes of worship, fellowship, ministry, discipleship, and evangelism. If you would like to join or lead a life group, please contact Rebecca Peterson for more information. (873-4304)

Monday

God and Ladies – meet in a private home at 7:00 p.m.
Hearts for Him – meet at 10:00 a.m. at the church
Jesus, Others and You (JOY) meet at 10:00 a.m. at the church
Two Mondays – meet in a private home at 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday

Wednesday Ladies – meet in a private home at 2:00 p.m.
Welcome Center Group - meets at the church at 6:30 p.m.

Other Weekly Opportunities for Fellowship and Discipleship

Sunday

  • Joshua’s Men meets at the church at 1:00 p.m. for a Bible Study, accountability and prayer.

Monday

  • Prayer & Praise – This group meets at 7:15 p.m. in the Parlor for worship, discussion, and prayer. The emphasis is prayer for one another, the church, and specific needs including emotional and physical healing.
  • United Methodist Women for women of all ages meets the third Monday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in the Conference Room. This UMW group is a missions-minded, service group. Meetings include devotions, programs, prayer and refreshments.

Tuesday

  • A small group adult Bible Study meets in the Conference Room at 10:30 a.m. Study topics vary. Prayer and Encouragement are priorities.

Come As You Are– (CAYA) is a group for women (all ages) who want to achieve a healthy balance of body, soul and mind (with built-in group accountability). Meetings are at 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Administration Building.

Wednesday

  • WEDNESDAY CONNECTIONS are short-term classes (4 weeks in Sept. and 4 weeks in February). Connections begin with suppers in Fellowship Hall from 5:30-6:30 p.m. PBJ is always available for kids.
  • .
  • Elective classes meet 6:30–7:30 p.m. Electives usually include: Bible Studies, Topical Studies, and Practical Skills Courses. Stop at the Church Welcome Center or office for specific listings.
  • A program for children and youth runs concurrently with electives at 6:30
    p.m.You may sign up by calling the church office at 873-4304.

Thursday

  • Men’s Accountability Group meets at 5:45 a.m. for a time to evaluate daily walks and to study the Bible.
  • Sisters on Fire (Women’s Bible Study) meets from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in one of the women’s homes. Bible study is interwoven with special outreach ministries.
  • Cornerstones (Sr. Citizens 60 and older) meet the first Thursday of each month at noon in Fellowship Hall for a potluck lunch, good times, special programs, and outings.
  • Soul Survivors - (widows and widowers) meet the third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall for a potluck supper and games or a special program.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 8 p.m. each Thursday in Fellowship Hall. Call the church office for more information.

Friday

  • Supper Clubs are organized in the fall for the upcoming year. Group members are selected randomly to form parties of about eight, and everyone hosts only once a year.
